Welcome to Saint Mikes

In these pages you will be able to find out more about the Saint Michael Centre in Tomintoul.

Tomintoul is a small village on the rim of the Cairngorm Plateau, within the National Park. It is easily accessed by road from Perth (2 hours), Inverness (1 hour), and Aberdeen (1.5 hours). The nearest train station is in Aviemore (a 45 minute car journey away). Most groups bring their own transport. Public transport in this area is limited.

The main block at Saint Michael’s is a former convent. Sisters of Mercy were engaged in pastoral work throughout the surrounding area over many generations. The convent closed in the 1960s. The building has been used for its current purpose since the 1970s. It’s a happy place. Always has been.
